For this focused new business sales challenge, experience of selling in to independent retail jewellers is a must, with new account opening prowess as a particularly strong weapon in your armoury.
Covering a large geographical territory will not faze you; in fact the more trade contacts you already possess, the more likely you are to win selection favour.
A pioneering role such as this requires unstoppable zest and appetite, as well as an organised approach to keeping track of customer commitment timelines. You will need to constantly seize the moment, whether in person, on the telephone or by e-mail, never allowing yourself an unproductive moment, in your quest to build future profitable business, for the ultimate benefit of all parties.
You will need keen analytical skills, and a sound understanding – drawn from your experience on the ground - of which product ranges will be most successfully sold through by each retail customer.
Supported by your equally tenacious Head Office colleagues, you will identify, town by town and by county, the strengths and opportunities that exist for additional brand and product placement. Once the appropriate accounts have been agreed, you will embark upon your unrelenting mission to secure these additional authorized retailer stockists.
Prospecting for new business is essential for every business wishing to buck the trend of the declining UK High Street, but equally important to our client is having an in-house sales specialist who in addition to being knowledgeable is also ready and able to capitalise on new concepts and bring them swiftly and successfully to market.
