Successfully marketing new and pre-owned fine jewellery and watches our client, Paul James Jewellers - a much respected independently owned family jeweller, delight in serving local clientele from throughout East Surrey.  The owners are continually investing in their high street position ensuring that their jeweller distinctiveness radiates ever brighter within their locality and continues to draw discerning interest from further afield.  In addition to selling a range of new and pre-owned fine jewellery and watches, the team can collectively offer an array of much valued services including valuations, repairs, and bespoke jewellery design.

The quest is to identify a strong leader with experience and knowledge of our client’s trade who would be able to enjoy the responsibility and operating autonomy that this businesses Directors are keen to allocate.

Job role:
Working in partnership with the company’s Directors, you will implement their trading strategy across all areas of the store including staff training, H.R., security, and associated administration. It is envisaged that before too long, day-to-day management of this beacon status retailer should become your sole domain which from a personal perspective may allow you to career flourish like never before.  Committed as the store is to their locality, there is still significant opportunity to grow their traditional counter service which can be supported by relevant in-store events & promotional activity.  This should excite and be initiated eagerly through your own brand contacts and seen through to final fruition by yourself as a quickly appreciated store leader whose community recognition quickly gathers appreciation and respectful note.  Once your talent is in place, this will allow your Store Director to explore additional avenues of out-of-store revenue gathering such as developing further a ‘VIP Concierge - by appointment service’ to known store patrons.

Already experienced in managing a retail business and a team of sales staff you are ever looking for the optimum routes to increase store sales ensuring always the customer experience is virtuous. It may be that you have already acquired Jewellery trade qualifications such as those offered by JET, FGA, or DGA.  If this was an area that required further development, our client could look at later, supporting you in gaining such a full suite of accreditation. Ever able to apply good commercial sense you are gifted in achieving pre-set trading goals and self- smartness, integrity, and trustworthiness are a given.
