An incredible opportunity now exists for an individual to join this established and successful lighting workshop – providing handmade and bespoke fixtures to a high-profile international client base. The work Charles Edwards produce is an interesting hybrid that overlaps with hand metalworking skills and manufacturing.
Job Role:

Fabricate, manufacture and carry out modifications of custom light fittings and fixtures including parts and components.

Modify stock as per each required sales order specification.

Undertake repairs to existing stock to ensure all are pristine ready for sale.

Carry out customer repairs to an excellent standard in a timely manner.

Assist in the pre-finishing process.

Actively contribute ideas to finding improvements in manufacture and design.

Support the Management team to ensure every product meets the safety requirements as per best industry certification.

Within the breadth of your role perform all duties accurately, promptly in a consistent manner ever mindful of controlling costs.
Administrative duties for this role include:

Ensure all works paperwork is completed correctly.

Record or report any product specification sheet errors detected and amend as required.

Adhere to the company Quality Control procedures and document as briefed.

Ensure internal protocols and workflow patterns are followed in a transparent and orderly manner to afford team member support if and when required.

Requirements:

Within their London workshop the emphasis is primarily hand metal working skills, but they would need the successful applicant to use a lathe, pedestal grinders and polishing wheels etc.

Most of their merchandise is manufactured from brass – though for added strength on some pieces steel and other metals can be introduced. Consequently, if a candidate could silver solder, braze, soft solder, rivet and ideally weld that would be a perfect match.

You need to be Health and safety workplace astute and be proactive in feeding back helpful insight from the bench that may aid and further promote sales.
